Stretch is up!
Disney has added the latest character to the official Toy Story 3 web site.
Stretch’s bio, 360 view and downloads are there as reported yesterday. Downloads include wallpapers and icons for your desktop as well as your iPhone. I’m looking forward to tossing Stretch on the wall and watching her climb down! Stretch will be voiced by the awesomely talented Whoopi Goldberg.

Stretch!
Say hello to Stretch!
Stretch is a fun-loving under-the-sea octopus friend that shines in glittery purple. Kids can count her eight rubbery legs and dozens of sticky suckers that are sure to stand up to rough-and-tumble play and extreme stretching. Toss her high on the wall and watch her climb her way down! Clean in mild soap solution to remove dust and lint.
Almost certainly, Stretch will be featured tomorrow on the official Toy Story 3 website. Thanks to Animatieblog for scooping up and sharing the news!
Further details, 3d model and video can be seen on their site: Exclusive: New character for Toy Story 3: Stretch (translated to English by Google. Original un-translated Dutch version: Exclusief: Nieuw personage voor Toy Story 3: Stretch).

Toy Story 3 Theatrical Trailer (inside scoop)
It hasn’t been officially posted, but descriptions of the new Toy Story 3 theatrical trailer (the first trailer using footage from the actual film) screened at D23 are starting to leek out.
Over on PixarTalk:
The first trailer comprised of all footage from the film was shown. It was extremely impressive. We see Andy’s Mom talking to Andy about what to do with these old toys (as he’s off to college) and we see some great flashback footage of Andy playing with all his toys (between TS2 and TS3 as Jessie and Bullseye are amongst the toys shown). We then cut to the toys being played with (very roughly) by some preschoolers at a daycare…continue reading
Comingsoon.net had this:
The footage we saw starts off with home videos of Andy as a young boy. We see him playing with his toys and then it cuts to him getting ready to leave for college. He’s in his room on the computer and his mom walks in asking what he’s going to do with his old toys. You see Woody and Buzz in a toy box with the others. The toys all then have a meeting to talk about what they think their future is. Woody calms down Rex as he worries about the possibility of being thrown away. Andy then comes back, picks up Woody and Buzz, then walks out of his room. We’re not sure where he’s going until the next scene where we see the toys in what looks like to be a day care or preschool. Little kids are terrorizing them and they try to make a run for it…continue reading
I’ve never hoped 276 days would pass as quickly as I want them to today…

Today on stage at the D23 Expo, John Lasseter announced a bucket of new notable Toy Story 3 cast members. Joining previously announced Timothy Dalton (as Mr. Pricklepants …chuckle) is actor John Morris. John was the voice of young Andy in Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and is now back as 18 year old Andy in Toy Story 3. Also announced as new cast members are Jeff Garlin, Bonnie Hunt and Whoopi Goldberg although no indication yet on the characters they’ll be voicing. The Toy Story 3 Wikipedia entry has already been updated with the news.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Lasseter showed the new Toy Story 3 tailer, the first one with footage of the movie.
