What does Disney / Marvel mean for Boom! Studios?
Disney / Marvel deal is the news of the day (See Disney to buy Marvel for $4bn). So what does this mean to the (potential) Boom! Studios deal to publish the new Disney titles and an ongoing comic series of Cars, Wall-E and Toy Story? (We blogged about this recently: Boom! to Serve Up New Toy Story Comic). If Marvel has anything to say about it, probably nothing. Why? Marvel Comics, publishes superhero comics. That’s their bread and butter, and it has worked incredibly well for them over the years.
Read about the comic industries reaction to the deal: More Comic Industry Reaction to Marvel & Disney. Afterwards, please share your thoughts.

Lego Heart Toy Story
At Comic-Con 2009 the Lego / Toy Story exhibit featured a life size Lego Buzz Lightyear as well as Lego’s new set of Toy Story Mini-figs (minature lego characters) which are to be released just in time for Christmas. With a simple search on Flickr you can see just how popular Buzz was at the conference. I’ve posted previously about the Toy Story Mini-figs.

Comic book maker Boom! Studios will be releasing several new ongoing series including Cars, Wall-E and Toy Story, all of which start with a “zero” issue in November and will be available monthly.
Following up on the hit Toy Story comic mini-series released in June, this new ongoing features all new, never before seen original stories with your favorite Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story characters. Woody and Buzz are back … and Andy, too!
Alan J. Porter will write the Toy Story series with art by Brett Schoonover. You can follow Alan on Twitter @AlanJPorter.
Update: This news is still sitting on the rumor windmill and has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for further updates.
